Review and Giveaway: Infiniti by Conair You Curl

Monday, June 14, 2010

Ever since I was younger, I've LOVED curling irons. I've owned so many, I cannot even begin to tell you how many I have owned! When I was approached to review a NEW curling iron, I was excited! Even though I don't do my hair daily, I still like to make myself look good, like most of us females do!

I was offered the chance to try out the Infiniti by Conair You Curl (pictured above.) Just look at that sexy piece of machinery. Yes, I said sexy! It's ceramic, and we all know that makes for sexy hair!

About the You Curl:

Is your curling iron “clamping” your style? Sometimes you just gotta let loose! Soft, sexy curls are now easy to create with the new Infiniti by Conair You Curl. The You Curl has a unique, clamp-free design and a cone-shaped barrel that creates a softer, less structured curl.  Simply wrap hair around the barrel, hold for a few seconds and then release.  The conical design allows the curls to start closer to the root, allowing more volume through the middle (large portion of the barrel) and the bottom will have a tighter curl (small section of the barrel).  The effect is trendy, free-flowing spirals with no “clamp kinks.”

The powerful ceramic heater features Tourmaline Ceramic™ technology which provides more protection, reduces frizz, helps eliminate static and does not have damaging hot spots. The ultra-high heat levels are instantly restored during use, and the 5 LED settings provide the ideal temperatures for all hair types. The stay-cool safety tip protects fingers during use.

The Infiniti by Conair You Curl is available nationwide at mass market and drug store retailers, as well as at, for an average retail price of $49.99.

Now, I have to be honest with you... I had my hair cut on Mother's Day and it's pretty short right now. I tried for about 15-20 minutes to curl my hair with this awesome curling iron, but my hair was just not giving in. It curled a little, but not in a good way. I finally gave up, realizing that there was no way I could make those curls (which were more like half curls) work. I'm a little disappointed, but I know that once my hair grows a little longer, I'll be able to use this awesome curling iron! Therefore, I would not recommend this curling iron for short hair.

I DO like that it gets hot quick! And it reduces frizz, which is a major problem for me in the summer. Maryland is so humid in the summer (like today) and my wavy, fine hair gets so poofy!

I'll try to update you on this curling iron once my hair gets a little longer - hopefully by the end of the summer so I can check out that frizz control! I WILL be using this again - I don't give up that easily!

Here's a video on how to use the You Curl:
