I was trying to get some giveaways going for Mother's Day, but due to my lack of planning that didn't happen. Alternatively, I was contacted by Marie Baker of Team Mom to do a giveaway for bellybuds™ bellyphones™, so I figured I'd share this giveaway for you, my readers.





About bellybuds™:

The latest trend among moms-to-be is playing music in utero as a way to bond with their child. Stylish, portable, and easy-to-use, bellybuds™ bellyphones™ offer an elegant solution for how audio may be played to the womb. Bellybuds wearable speakers comfortably adhere to the belly and give today’s expectant moms the freedom to go about their day -- exercising, working, shopping and more -- while sharing prenatal music or other sounds (like recorded voice messages from loved ones) with their developing child.

Bellybuds consist of a pair of simple, two-inch modular bellyphones that plug into any standard mp3, digital music player or sound device, and can be placed anywhere on the abdomen.  The circular disks gently adhere to the growing belly with a medical-grade, reusable and skin-safe hydrogel. Bellybuds have a fixed, maximum sound level strong enough to penetrate to the womb. They reach the baby at a decibel level roughly equivalent to a casual conversation and lower than the mother’s heartbeat.  When mom is done sharing music and sounds with her baby, bellybuds are easily stored on the included “dock” and placed in the accompanying pouch for portability and safe-keeping.

The idea behind bellybuds was conceived by a father-to-be and co-founder of Belly Buds, LLC,  Curtis Williams, who was seeking a better way for his wife to play music to their yet-to-be born daughter. Unable to find an appealing alternative to the expectant mom having to sit on the couch and hold her headphones to her belly, Williams decided to pursue a solution himself, bringing friend and product designer Brett Klisch on board to help design and engineer bellybuds.

“Because the idea for bellybuds came from searching for a comfortable alternative for a mom-to-be, it was important for us to have conversations with mothers and pregnant women as to what they would like or not like in such a product,” explains Williams. “Style, convenience, and safety were at the top of everyone’s lists. That feedback was invaluable and it directly affected our design choices.”
