Ultimate Cloth - I'm calling you out for not sending your prize

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Remember back in December when I had the Holiday Hoopla? I did a review and a giveaway for The Ultimate Cloth. Now, please understand that this person contacted ME, I did NOT contact him in any way, shape, or form!

I posted the review on December 8th. I chose my winner of the Ultimate Cloth on December 18th, 2009.

I've since emailed the sponsor twice. I've gotten no response. What's funny is that he even emailed me once about another promo for February that I guess he wanted me to post for free!

In my Giveaway Rules, it states that I am not responsible for prizes being sent out, unless I notify the winner of such previously. It is really bad when a company contacts a blogger to do a review & giveaway but the company doesn't hold up to their end of the bargain (AHEM Ultimate Cloth)!

Wanna know something else? Parent Reviewers had the same problem with this company.

As soon as I spread the word around about this company a little bit, I'm removing their post from my blog also.

Belinda - I'm sorry you won't be getting your prize.

YOU GO GIRL! Great for calling them out. We need to do this sort of thing and keep each other informed on who to avoid!

tsk, tsk, tsk. Bad business, to say the least.
Thanks for the heads up; I certainly won't be sending referrals their way.

Not good! You did the right thing in trying to contact them and calling them out. Imagine they contacted you about something else!

This will hurt their business... oh wait... their business sucks already if they don't hold their word on giveaways.

    Crappy companies suck!

When i saw the headline in the email feed i get i was like OMG some other blogger had the same problem with them. Im not sure if i had read about it from Parent Reviewers or not though. You bloggers do a lot of pr work for these companies, the least they could do is send out the prize they promised!

Good for you!! I think it's important to stand up for yourself in this situation.
I'm sorry to both you and your giveaway winner that this company can't live up to their word!

That's sad they didn't follow through. I ordered the free one due to your review, paid the $2.99 shipping only, and got it prior to Christmas.

Thanks for the link love Angie. It's great that you're standing up for yourself too. You know, we bloggers should really unite for such cause and show these companies that we cannot be taken advantage of. If they think they can get FREE publicity and traffic this way, they had better think twice ;)

Wow, I am supposed to be doing a review and giveaway for them. I won't be now!! Too much of a risk. Good for you for calling them out and letting us all know. It's so wrong for companies to do this and take advantage of us bloggers.

Last fall an entity calling itself "Ultimate Cloth America" made a campaign to many mommy bloggers offering a giveaway. This was very much a case of identity theft of our company by an entity that was not authorized to use any of our website content, trademarked property, or to offer a giveaway. Ultimate Cloth® will not tolerate this behavior – for our customers, distributors, and our company who have experienced nothing but hardship from "Ultimate Cloth America."

Ultimate Cloth® is dedicated to making this right. We are very confident that "Ultimate Cloth America" will soon disappear. We sincerely apologize for this inappropriate incident and we would like to honor any giveaway that "Ultimate Cloth America" has not followed through on. We will definitely be following up with those who were wronged by "Ultimate Cloth America." Please bear with us as we are still tallying the total damages of this incident.

In the meantime, these are the only official, and approved online Home Office links for Ultimate Cloth®:

    Official website:
    http://www.ultimatecloth.com/

    Facebook page:
    http://www.facebook.com/UltimateCloth

    Twitter:
    http://twitter.com/ultimatecloth

Thank you very much to all of the mommy bloggers who do support our product - they may not yet know that it was sent to them by fraudulent means, and we would like to follow up with each of them. If you have written a blog about Ultimate Cloth®, please email us a link to it at charity@ultimatecloth.com.

Please stay posted, we plan to update Angie on our success as we work to make our company better, and put offenders in their place.

    Sincerely,
    Charity Michot

I do see that this was posted back in March, and I apologize for our late response. We had no idea such a post existed, I just recently discovered it as the newly hired marketing director. Anyone who has been wronged in this incident, say you won the cloth on a blog giveaway, etc please contact me with the details and your mailing address so I can make sure you get the prize you deserve.

    Thanks again,
    Charity
