Inkubook Buy One, Get One Half-off deal

Have you heard of Inkubook? I heard about it about a year or so ago, but haven't used their services yet.

I guess with all the printing deals that are going on on the web as of late, all of the companies are trying to keep up with the other's deals. (I'll be posting about some of these deals today also.)

Right now through November 3rd, if you order a photo book through Inkubook, you'll get a 2nd copy of the same book for half price.

These look like great books too!

Inkubook also offers free shipping deals too - once you join the site, you'll start to get emails on their deals.

I just scored a great deal at JCPenney's

You may have seen this deal around the internet recently, that you could get $10 off of a $10 purchase at JCPenney's using the code "SWEETS4U" - which ends today - you may still have time to use it - I just used it this morning!

I used my Ebates account to get 3% back on my purchase which will go directly into my PayPal account. (Don't have a PayPal account? Click the link to sign up - it's easy and FREE!)

Anyway, I'm ecstatic about my deal I just scored at JCPenney - I used the $10 off code and I bought a shirt already on sale! I ended up saving $28.01 as you see above!

Here's a pic of the shirt I bought:

Isn't it cute!? I can't wait till it comes!!!

MADD: The Power of Parents

As a kid/teenager, I remember seeing and hearing about MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) ALOT. Don't you?

We all know the power that parents hold, specifically Mothers. For some reason (I think it's Mama Bear Syndrome), we influence laws, organize rallies, and make CHANGE if it's something that we believe in.

MADD launched a new website a couple of days ago: The Power of Parents, which has information about various drunk driving laws through the United States, statistics, Victim Services (which also features a chat room!), and an online community. You can also view Parent Talk videos and read the Parent Blog while you're ther.

It's a sad reality, but underage drinking is a problem. By keeping the lines of communication open with your children, you are helping to prevent them from drinking. We must also work together as adults, to make sure that the underage drinking laws are kept intact and are punished to the fullest extent of the law.

How can you help?

Volunteer, donate, and take the pledge. Visit The Power of Parents and BE INFORMED. Use the tools they have there to communicate with your kids - your friends - your kids' friends - everyone you can. There's a war out there, Moms, and we're losing. Too many kids are dying by drunk drivers. Don't be the victim.

You can also visit the MADD Blog, follow MADD on Twitter, and Become a Fan of The Power of Parents on Facebook.

Something else that's cool? You can take the Underage Alcohol Safety Quiz and find out how at risk your teens are to drink while they're underage.

Not to brag or nothing, but here's my score:

*Of course, he just turned 13 so we'll see what happens in the next few years. I'm confident in our relationship and how we communicate.

Be safe out there, people.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of MADD. A donation was made to MADD in my name to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Review and Giveaway: Slice by Five for Fighting

They say all things must come to an end. Is it true? Right now, I disagree, as this is my latest installment of a review regarding music from One2One Network. Regardless, the show must go on...

Five For Fighting is BACK! Slice by Five For Fighting was released on October 13th, 2009.

Don't know who Five For Fighting is? Here's some info for ya:

Singer/songwriter John Ondrasik has spent the past decade writing deeply personal songs that include social messages, invoke the human spirit and make an emotional connection. This can be heard on the past five albums by Five For Fighting, the band name under which he records and performs.

Five For Fighting’s breakthrough came in 2001 with the Grammy Nominated song “Superman”, from the Platinum certified “America Town”. The song was climbing the charts upon release, and when 9/11 happened, it became a song of healing for the nation. FFF performed the song at the post 9/11 fundraiser The Concert for New York which paid tribute to all the firefighters, police officers & paramedics affected by the events of 9/11.

On the 2004 release, “The Battle For Everything”, the song “100 Years” followed in the footsteps of “Superman” as yet another inspiring reflective song. Refresh your memory here with FFF videos or by launching this FFF widget.

John is happily married and the father of two children whom he dotes on. His oldest actually made a debut in one of his videos as a newborn! (His other baby, his retro Ford Mustang, has made appearances in more than one album package and video.) He and his family resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Did You Know?

* In Feb 2007 John launched a charity driven website – whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com that raises money for various charities when users view video clips provided by visitors to the site. Current views are over 3 million with approx. $300,000 donated!
* John is a dedicated supporter of US Troops, performing for US Forces at Guantanamo Bay, Hawaii, Guam & Japan on USO tours
* John created & produced “For the Troops”, a CD compilation of superstar recordings that is available for free to every active service person in US Armed Forces
* Along with numerous television licenses, John’s composed songs for “August Rush”, “The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants”, “We Were Soldiers”, “Chicken Little” & “Everyone’s Hero"
* John loves sports and writing (and not just great songs)! He penned a regular hockey column for SportsIllustrated.com from 2005-2007, and freelances for various publications.

Review: Crazy Love by Michael Bublé

Remember how I told you that One2One Network is spoiling me, sharing all of this wonderful, new music with me? Well, this review is a little overdue, but no less of an impact than any of my recent reviews.

Okay, I'm lying. A little.

I'm hooked!

Aren't you?! Michael Bublé is freaking HAWT!

Just as his looks tickle my fancy, so does his newest CD - Crazy Love.

With tracks like "Cry Me a River", "Georgia On My Mind", and "Haven't Met You Yet", you'll fall Crazy IN Love!

About Crazy Love:

Track Listing:

1. Cry Me A River
2. All Of Me
3. Georgia On My Mind
4. Crazy Love
5. Haven't Met You Yet
6. All I Do Is Dream Of You
7. Hold On
8. Heartache Tonight
9. You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You
10. Baby (You've Got What It Takes)
11. At This Moment
12. Stardust
13. Whatever It Takes (bonus track)

About Michael Bublé:

Singer and songwriter Michael Bublé has sold over 22 million albums worldwide. His previous album, 2007’s Grammy winning "Call Me Irresponsible" was a #1 album in over 15 countries.

His 2005 CD "It's Time" holds the record as the longest running title to remain on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts – a full two years. It sat in the Number One position for over 80 weeks!

He has had two #1 singles, "Everything" and "Home" which was also a #1 hit for Blake Shelton on the Country charts.

The multi-Grammy winning artist hunkered down in recording studios in LA, Brooklyn, New York and his hometown of Vancouver for the last six months to make his "ultimate record about the inevitable roller coaster ride of relationships."

The title song is a cover of the Van Morrison gem “Crazy Love” The CD closes out with a haunting version of "Stardust" which is performed with the acapella group Naturally 7.

The album was produced by David Foster, Bob Rock and Humberto Gatica.

You can check Michael out at his Facebook Fan Page, his website, and you can buy Crazy Love at Amazon.com.

My thoughts:

YUM! Oops...

I meant to say:

I've told you before how I love Hip Hop, R&B, pop, even some good old rock-n-roll... I have heard Michael's name before but I had never voluntarily listened to him. In fact, I couldn't name anything he sang. Now I can.

I loved this CD and I'm sure I'll enjoy it for quite a few more years. Maybe until the kids are gone, so they can stop complaining about me listening to it so much. I leave you with this: Go watch the "Haven't Met You Yet" video, in case you need to be convinced some more.

Thanks to One2One Network for providing me with this CD to review!

Friday is Mega SwagBcks day

Search & Win

Not only do I love Fridays because the weekend is here, but also because it's Mega SwagBucks day at SwagBucks!

On Fridays, you have a higher chance of winning more that $1 or $2 in SwagBucks - some even win $5 at a time!

I'm saving up my SwagBucks for a Wii for the family for Christmas! How do I do that? Every time I need to search for something, instead of using a regular search engine, I go to SwagBucks and search. I usually win $1 - if I search 3 times of day I probably would win $3 but I always forget!

Once I get 45 SwagBucks, I trade them in for $5 Gift Codes for Amazon.com. Easy peasy right?

There are also more ways to redeem your SwagBucks, like participating in SwagStakes, and even getting cash through PayPal, but like I said, I'm saving up for the Wii (I'm about 3/4 of the way there!).

Skeptical? My Friend and fellow blogger, Valerie from Sweeps4Bloggers, earned a free Wii through SwagBucks, as did Alyssa at Kingdom First Mom.

So - sign up for Swagbucks here and then recruit your friends because everytime they win - you do too!

Extra ways to get SwagBucks are by checking the SwagBucks homepage every hour to see if your username is listed, subscribing to the newsletter where you will get codes, as well as by becoming a fan of SwagBucks on Facebook, and by following SwagBucks on Twitter.

Learn more about SwagBucks here - because you don't want to search too much and get deactivated!

Pink Together (Giveaway)

I'm sure you all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I've got a couple of badges up on my right sidebar showing my support, and if my blog wasn't pink already, I would have gone Pink in October to show my support even further! I did so last year, and I think - the year before.

Although I personally don't have anyone in my family that has been affected by Breast Cancer (that I know of), I'm adopted and do not communicate with all of the members in my birth family, so I can't be too certain if it's in my family history or not. (And yes, that worries me!) Years ago, I found lumps in my breasts - 3 of them to be exact. I was YOUNG (19) and had just had my second child. I saw 5 doctors before I was told that they were lymph nodes and that it was up to me if I wanted them removed or not. Needless to say, I still worry about those lumps but they don't give me trouble, so until they do, I chose not to go under the knife.

That's part of the reason I want to share PinkTogether.com with you!

On PinkTogether.com everyone can share hope by posting and reading inspiring stories of breast cancer survivors and supporters within the community.

The site is part of Pink Together® (an online community on MySpace), a national campaign to support those impacted by breast cancer and to help raise awareness of the disease. To support Pink Together, General Mills is donating $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and is turning the packaging pink next month on an assortment of its most beloved brands. General Mills will also donate $1, up to $20,000, each time you post a comment of encouragement, send a virtual flower bouquet or share a story on PinkTogether.com in October.

I encourage you to go to PinkTogether.com and view the inspiring stories, as well as visit Pink Together's YouTube channel and view the videos from the 2009 Pink Together Survivor Ambassadors talking about their journeys with breast cancer.

In conjunction with this campaign from MyBlogSpark, I was sent an Inspiring Hope gift basket (pictured below) that includes a sleeved travel mug, a running ribbon charm bracelet, a pink leather strap keychain, a pink cinch bag, and a set of inspirational note cards. All of the gift basket items are from ShopKomen.com, where 25 percent of the merchandise purchase price benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the fight against breast cancer.

Win It!

One of you will win the items in the photo above (which are GREAT!)

Child Passenger Safety

Thursday, October 29, 2009

On behalf of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Ad Council, along with Momfluence, I'd like to share the following information with you:

There are wonderful resources available for free to help you make safe choices about car seats and to help you use their car seats properly for maximum safety.

Twitter: An actual safety expert mans the @ChildSeatSafety account on Twitter, and they will continue to answer any questions that parents have about child passenger safety. This is such a unique resource from a government agency!

Facebook: NHTSA has a Facebook page at http://facebook.com/childpassengersafety where parents can learn about everything from LATCH to locating inspection offices.

Website: The Ad Council and the NHTSA have created a site with all the resources parents need to keep their smallest passengers safe: http://childcarsafety.adcouncil.org/. Find your local inspection station, watch instructional videos, and even take a fun quiz!

Review: Febreze SPORT

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

You know from my previous posts since August, that my son is playing football. Add to that the fact that he's THIRTEEN and sometimes you have one stinky boy!

That's why when I was contacted to do a review of the new Febreze SPORT, I thought "Thank God! A product I can spray in his shoes, in his football equipment bag, and more - without him complaining that it "smells like a girl!"

About Febreze SPORT:

The Febreze SPORT Extreme Odor Eliminator is the leading home freshening brand’s first product that has been designed primarily for athletes. Febreze SPORT Extreme Odor Eliminator is a trigger spray that instantly neutralizes the toughest sports odors on shoes, sports gear, and apparel – including those un-washable shoes, equipment and gym bags!

Whether you’re a marathon runner, an avid gym-goer or a mom who is trying to keep her kids (and their sports gear) fresh, we would like to send you a branded gym bag and complementary sample of Febreze SPORT.

Febreze SPORT comes in the following scents/products:

Fresh & Clean Workout Eliminator in Cool Energy and Active Fresh scents

Extreme Odor Eliminator (spray bottle) in Cool Energy and Active Fresh scents

Laundry Odor Eliminating Boost

My thoughts:

We were sent the Active Fresh spray along with a gymbag. As a longtime Febreze fan, I love the scent of this product! As soon as I got it, I started spraying stuff down! My son's cleats, his equipment bag, his practice outfit, heck, I even sprayed some on the carpet, just to test it out. Febreze SPORT left a clean, fresh scent and everything smelled MUCH better than before!

As soon as I find the laundry boost, I'll be buying it!

Update on Santa's Picks and the button

I just wanted to update everyone on the button for Santa's picks. I posted the button HERE and said that if you grab the button before November 9th, that you could get an extra five entries into each giveaway during the Gift Guide event, which is scheduled for November 9th-26th, not on giveaways posted here now or during that time. (Sorry if I confused anyone! I thought it was pretty clear!) Just make sure you're commenting on that post (where the button is posted - link above) that you got the button, then when the giveaways start, that you comment that you had the button before Nov. 9th five times!

P.S. I'll be posting a snippet here of each review/giveaway, but they will be housed over at Santa's Picks, because that's where the action is going to be! You will have to comment on the posts over there to win!

Thanks!

Review: Febreze Home Collection

Awhile back, I won a Febreze package from Tanya at Mommy Goggles. Pardon my surprise, when one day I received a package of a couple of the items from the Febreze Home Collection!

I was racking my brain, trying to figure out where I won it from! When I enter blog giveaways, I tend to win a lot. In addition, I enter sweepstakes so sometimes packages come unannounced that way too! But this one just appeared - no letter inside, nothing - except for a comment card.

A couple of weeks later I got an email - mystery solved!

By then I had already tried my items - the Flameless Luminary (YUM!) and the coasters, which are absolutely gorgeous and replaced my old, sticky coasters.

The Flameless Luminary's scents that I got were Green Tea Citrus and Cranberry Pear, and let me tell you - these scents were scrumptious! I especially like that they are a safe way to have scent (and even a little ambiance) without burning a candle!

Thanks, Febreze, for sending me these presents!

Disclaimer: I received the products mentioned in this review for free. Receiving an item for free will NEVER influence my thoughts on a review. These are my opinions and yours may differ.

That's why I'm thrilled that Ghost Adventures is having a LIVE event on October 30th! Ghost Adventures LIVE will start at 8 pm and last until 3 am EST. FIRE UP YOUR DVRs! (Mine's already scheduled!)

Zak and the crew will be locked down at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. What fun!

Charmin offers $10K holiday jobs

Charmin recently launched a national job search to find five enthusiastic people to work in New York City’s Times Square Charmin Restrooms this holiday season for a salary of $10,000 each. The five chosen “Charmin Ambassadors” will interact with hundreds of thousands of restroom guests and reveal exclusive, behind-the-scenes news by writing and updating their own blogs and content on popular social media sites.

The Charmin Restrooms are returning to New York City for the fourth consecutive year to provide tourists and locals alike with a “relief refuge” and momentary respite from the holiday rush. The 20 clean, deluxe, ADA compliant, family-friendly and fully-staffed restrooms are just like those you’d find at home, and offer a highly engaging and interactive Charmin experience with additional luxuries such as: stroller parking; baby changing stations; seating and a family photo area.

Open auditions will take place on Thursday, November 5 from 10 AM – 6 PM. Charmin only asks that candidates should enjoy going to the bathroom so much, they never want to leave.

Halloween Tips from CalorieCount.com

Halloween is just around the corner, and while candy is not necessarily a healthy treat, it’s hard to resist. It’s easy to forget the high calories associated with candy - even bite size candies can add up! To manage calorie-intake this Halloween, check out CalorieCount.com for nutritional facts for all your favorite candy.

CalorieCount.com offers weight management tools, social support and nutritional info to help members reach diet goals. The Web site is based on the philosophies that every dieter is different and for a weight loss program to be successful, it has to be personal, and make sense with your lifestyle. Counting calories is a proven and highly effective way to lose weight.

CalorieCount.com Director of Nutrition Mary Hartley, R.D., has some great tips to avoid candy binges:

* The best candies are simple sugar creations like lollipops and hard candies (or gummy bears and licorice, although those stick to your teeth!)

* Buy candy at the last minute and make sure it’s not your favorite kind so you will not be tempted

* You can always choose your favorite candy, but limit snacking to Halloween night only

* Become a candy snob. Buy only really good candy (e.g. Godiva Truffles) and savor each piece mindfully. Take a piece, close your eyes, and see how long you can make it last. Think of words to describe the taste sensation.

* Conversely, don’t kid yourself into thinking inferior candy is good. Stale peanuts in the M&Ms, stale Rice Krispies in the Nestles Crunch, grainy chocolate, the vile after-taste of candy corn. Yuck! Who wants to eat that?

* Vow to eat only two pieces of Halloween candy everyday. Stretch it out until the kids forget about it.

* Play the game of keeping each piece of candy in your mouth for a full minute before swallowing.

* Put the candy in the freezer. Your teeth will break if you try to gobble it down.

* Give away half of the candy to the local Shelter for the Homeless or the Food Bank. Feel the joy of giving.

* Chop up the chocolate candy and bake it in to cookies. Throw a little party and serve them to the guests.

* Do not buy the candy on sale on November 1st!

* Save half of the candy for Santa Claus. Santa said he needs the candy as payback for the gifts. Want proof? See how fat he is.

Review and Giveaway: Lemon Tree Cards

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted to do a review and a giveaway of Lemon Tree Cards. As a papercrafter, I appreciate finely made cards. Upon browsing the Lemon Tree Cards site for an item that I would like to review, I delighted in these gorgeous cards and announcements!

I chose the Damask Cat on Books Note Cards, with light pink envelopes, and when they arrived, I fell in love!

As you can see from the above photo, the cards come in a clear bag and wrapped beautifully with a ribbon, which is perfect for gift giving! These notes in particular are blank on the inside, making this a functional card for use as a Thank You note, "Just saying hi" note, and many more!

Lemon Tree Cards has perfect items that you can give as a Christmas gifts, such as the Personalized Bird Note Cards, Personalized Family Monogram Note Cards, Christmas Thank You Notes for Children, and Holiday Christmas Cards for Children.

Another great thing about Lemon Tree Cards cards is that new items are added almost daily, not to mention that you can even ask for a personalized note to be included in your order(s) for gift-giving purposes! Your gifts can be sent to you or directly to the recipient! (Talk about convenient!)

A couple more items that I like are the Alexandra Pink Green 5X5 Birth Announcements (pictured below) and the Baby Shower Game (Trivia) - it's too bad that I'm not planning on having any more babies anytime soon!

Lemon Tree Cards has a HUGE selection of items, in addition to the items I mentioned above:

*Advice Cards
*Business Cards
*Candy Wrappers
*Favors/Gift Tags
*Flyers/Brochures
*Invitations
*Menus
*Postcards
*Scratch Off Tickets

These are all great for any type of Shower, as well as Parties, Weddings, and Gifts!

**On another note, Shelley at Lemon Tree Cards also runs Lemon Tree Cards Blog, in which she hosts giveaways and participates in Wordless Wednesday! Oh, and she has a cat! Not just any cat, but a Maine Coon - one of my faves! Stop by and say hello if you're so inclined!

Win it!
