Circle Times*
Mother Goose on the Loose
Wednesdays - 10:30 am (The Oasis)

Mother Goose on the Loose is an award-winning literacy program that incorporates books, rhymes, fingerplays, flannelboard stories, music, dance and child-parent interaction into dynamic programs that help build motor, music, social and pre-literacy skills in infants and toddlers. Mother Goose on the Loose does not require advanced sign-ups; Museum admission is required.
For children from birth to age 3 with a parent or caregiver.

Circle Times in the Oasis
Weekdays at 11:30 am
Saturdays at 11 am, 12 pm and 1 pm
Sundays at 3:30 pm

Enjoy an interactive story time in a library setting. In addition to hearing stories aloud, your child may have the opportunity to meet puppets, sing songs, play musical instruments or particpate in creative dramatics. Circle Time does not require advanced sign-up; Museum admission is required. Especially recommended for ages 3-6 years old.

*Circle Times are subject to change based on daily schedules. Circle Times will be listed daily on the "Cool Things to Do" List.

Studio Workshop

From How to WOW - Fibers - Coaster Weaving
How are fabrics made and where do they come from? FIBERS! Discover how different types of fibers become yarns and threads in our Art Circle. Touch real wool, feel raw cotton, then see the beautiful and unique artworks they become as quilts and weavings. See Peruvian weavings and African American quilts as you craft your own woven coaster!

From How to WOW - Fibres - Jr. Paper Weaving
Same fun with an age appropriate variation for artists young at art! Learn about fabrics and weaving by crafting your own paper weaving. This activity option is on target with the younger child's developing motor skills, while refining observation skills. Show Me/Tell Me signs guide you and your child through your project!


MPT Studio
Enjoy programs devoted to singing, learning and performing, including World Rhythm Drum Circus and Scrape, Rattle and Drum!




Access/ABILITY: NEW VISITING EXHIBIT!
September 19 - January 24
Access/ABILITY is a highly interactive, yet sensitive, disability awareness exhibit that delivers the message to visitors that as human beings, we are more alike than different. This unique exhibit presents people living with disabilities as participants in the world and features fun and engaging activities that show the similarities and differences in how each of us with or without disabilities go places, communicate, have fun, and learn. Learn phrases in American Sign Language, try a hand-pedaled bike, type your name in Braille and much more!

Stroller Strides

Fitness for Mom, Fun for Baby! Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that new caregivers can do WITH their babies. It includes power walking and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller. Taught by specially trained instructors, it’s a great workout for any level of exerciser.

8:30 – 9:30 am

Comcast Toon Day!

October 17

Bring the little ones down to enjoy a toony-rific Saturday at Port Discovery!
Comcast Family Toon Day returns to Port Discovery on October 17 from 10am - 2pm. Hosted by the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore in cooperation with Comcast this event is a mix of free and paid* entertainment, activities and opportunities for kids to meet their favorite cartoon characters! Visiting today will be The Berenstain Bears, Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants and Pablo from The Backyardigans! Come down and meet your favorite!

Halloween Howl

October 31

Enjoy a not-so-scary Halloween party at Port Discovery!

Halloween Howl, formerly the Rattle Your Bones Shindig, is our signature Halloween event for little ones. This event allows children to dress in their favorite costumes and join us for a day of ghoulish fun in a safe and nurturing environment! It’s great fun for the whole family! Come down and experiment creatively by decorating cupcakes, creating fuzzy skeletons, and much more!
Enjoy a special performance by famed children’s band, MilkShake!
