Long Overdue - A Personal Post

Monday, June 29, 2009

My Lord! I've missed you! We haven't chatted in soooo long!

You know I've been busy with my Soiree' giveaways - and remember tomorrow is the end! I have 3 giveaways I'll be posting after I get home from work (since Blogger can't automatically publish posts like they are supposed to - AHEM BLOGGER!). Remember - the giveaways will all close on July 12th.

I'll come out from under the pile of entries by my birthday on the 21st - hopefully!

SO... How have YOU been? We're doing well here. I'm back to work (yay - sarcasm), my kids are enjoying their summer, so far, and we've been having some nice, HOT weather here in Maryland.

What are you doing for the 4th of July holiday? This is one of my favorite holidays, outside of Christmas. The 4th of July is so fun! The closest town, Bel Air has a local parade in the afternoon, along with a pancake breakfast and other events in the morning, and then fireworks at night.

But - this year we won't be going to that one. Luckily, there's another town, Havre de Grace, in this county that has fireworks usually the day before or after my town, so I'm going to try to go up there with the kids. Plus they have a carnival!

Do you wanna know what we are doing for the 4th??? You do?!

I'm going to my adoptive parents' house where I will see my oldest brother WHOM I HAVEN'T SEEN IN 16 YEARS!!!! Wow huh? I know... long story... But, I'll see him and meet his wife and stepdaughter(s?) so I'm really looking forward to it! Mom said we'll have a picnic of sorts and I'm sure my other brother will probably bring fireworks.

I'm really looking forward to seeing my brother. I grew up with just the two of them and even though they tortured me ALOT, I still love them. This one in particular was always my favorite. He graduated from high school and went to the Air Force Academy. I'm so proud of him for that, because you have to go through a lot to get in there! After he graduated from there, he got a job with Lucent (I think), which is now apparently Alcatel-Lucent and if I'm correct, he's been there ever since.

Granted, this reunion is bittersweet. As I said, I haven't seen him in 16 years and I don't see the rest of my immediate family often either. I saw them last 2 years ago. (The rest of our family lives in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area.)

I was going to go to Pittsburgh to go to the Pittsburgh Regatta but I HAVE to see my brother!

Anyway, it's 11 pm and I've got to get up at 4:30 am. Leave me a comment with your 4th of July plans so that I can live vicariously through you!

My girls will be playing softball all day on the 4th. We will end the day watching fireworks somewhere.

Sounds like you're going to have fun Angie! I'm glad you'll be able to see your brother again!

We go to Grant park every year, cook out in the same area with alot of our friends and stay the whole day. Then we walk down the trail for fireworks. This year (as well as last) my friend Jeremy's band will be playing. They rock old school classics and it's a great time. I can't wait!

Btw, I left you an award :)

Have fun with your family and seeing your brother. That's wonderful that you get the chance to reunite. Let me know the next time you come to Pittsburgh though. :)
